Tell us your story. What have your pets done. Take us on an advinture with a story worth telling.
Interesting topic, and honestly, I'm not sure where to start. My cat knows I'm blind and muy wife isn't. When I'm cooking, he goes into "stealth" mode, and will steal food from the pan. He just sits there when my wife cooks. When he wants me to find him, he either brushes up against me, or purrs very loudly.

I used to have a cat that would paw at your head and face when you were either about to go to sleep or sleeping. Cats sometime do this kneading thing with their paws, and most of the time they paw at your chest or belly. Well, Oreo pawed at my face and head. It was both hilarious and cute the first ten times he did it, then it got annoying and I had to gently push him off when he went at it.
I got an outdoor cat named Kiki, well he likes to catch and kill bugs well one night myself and my mother were outside and Kiki was sitting in a chair.
Well a bug flew past him so he jumps up to swat at it and soon after he goes tumbling over the side of the chair.
a horse i get on with very well at a stable I work at went down with colic, i called this in, and the vet was called out to the horse. a week later, i found the mare in a stable, now much better. going up to her, i rubbed her ears and muzzle, and she came right up to me and rubbed her head against my chest. Now she'd never done that before. was it a way of of thank you? I think it was. again, this same mare, a few months later, had a foal. I got to meet the foal at three days old. now mama horses are always skittish around their foals, or so I thought. not this mare. she was so laid back it was cute. she just stood there, her foal drinking from her milk supply, while a member of staff fed the foal some electrolite from a bottle from time to time. the mare, while this was going on, was engaged in rubbing her head against my chest as before, completely unconcerned about the foal drinking, or the staff member feeding the foal. despite her laid back atitude, this mare, is a great mother to her foal, according to sources.
One of my friends, now an acquaintance, had this cat and when she was a kitten, she used to drink my friend's coffee! I mean, she'd just have the cup sitting on the table or the counter and the cat would jump up and start drinking from the cup. When she told me about it, I cracked up laughing. We even created an email address with koffeekat in it. (I think that's how it was spelt.) she eventually stopped drinking it, either cause my friend told her no enough times or cause she just grew tired of it. Also, my Mom's friend had this dog and when she was a puppy, she used to love crushing soda cans and playing with them. I'd be sitting there and all of a sudden I'd here a can being crumpled and I knew dusty was around. She also loved to float in the pool in a little boat. It always made me laugh. Mom's friend died of breast cancer, so she never got to see the puppy grow up. So it was kind of bitter sweet in the end, but I'll always have the memory of the two of them like that. When the dog grew older, she'd also eat french fries out of my bag when she thought I wasn't paying attention.
WHen I was at cody's house, his cat Tea would get my attention, by jumping up on Cody's computer chair, and put his two front paws on my leg. He was telling me "pet me, pet me, sheesh, cody doesn't, some one around does.", or so I think anyway.
hehe some animals just want to be made a fuss of. i know one mare where I work, who is devoted to her brother, but he keeps her under an iron hoof as it were, pining after her when she goes out without him, but bullying her when she's in the stable. when I go in there with her, i feel it's almost a relief to her when she can forget her brother for a bit and just be made a fuss of. when she's on her own, she always wants to cuddle up and just be made a huge fuss of, but when she's with her brother, he kinda puts the dampers on her. so it's kind of cute when she comes out of herself.
I have a black and white cat named Cassie. She's a little brat most of the time, but there are times when she's very cute. Many times, I've caught her and my guide dog curled up together in the sun, and think how cute it is. She also loves to roll around on her back, and tare through the house at night, teasing my dog. It's both funny and annoying.
I used to have a cat named Shadow. I had an east facing window in my bedroom, so the sun came directly in there during the morning. Shadow loved to lay in the sun. I think animals have internal clocks. So at about sunrise every morning, Shadow would come in and stand at the window. If the sun was out, he'd purr loud as could be, and lay in the windowsill to sun himself. If the sun wasn't out yet, he'd stand at the window for a minute, then make this low, disgusted meow, and go away for about 20 minutes. Then he'd come back and check for the sun again. He'd do that either till it came out, or till he figured out the day was going to be cloudy.
Oh, that's a cute one. *smile*
Yeah, it was. I called him my little sun worshipper. He was such a good baby. I lost him to cancer in December of 2006.
Oh, but here's one more Shadow story for you. My friend Amy and I had run some errands one day, and then she came back to my place to hang out for awhile before returning home to hers. She has a cat, too, and one of the things she'd picked up while we were shopping was a bag of cat food. I free fed Shadow, and changed the food often, so he had a bowl of fresh food out already. But all of a sudden from where Amy's shopping bags were we hear this crunching. Shadow had silently managed to chew a hole in the side of Amy's new bag of cat food, and was eating the food through the little hole. We never herd him make the hole, but his crunching the food gave him away.
My mom's friend has a small dog named Moxy (not sure how it's spelled but that's how it sounds), and a chubby big cat named Killer. When Mom and I first went to that house, Moxy was barking a lot and Killer was mostly outside so I didn't get to interact with them as much, but when we went a few days ago, that was interesting. Not long after we had gotten there and I was sitting on a couch, Moxy ran and jumped straight up on my lap and acted like we had known each other for a long time, very friendly. Later, Killer was let in, and she jumped up and got beside me so I could pet her. So I petted her for a short while and then put my hand down. But she pushed my hand up with her nose as if to say "I still want to be petted." So I petted her for a little while longer and the next time I put my hand down, she left. It was just interesting and amusing how excited Moxy was to see me and how direct Killer was with letting me know she was not done with being petted. *smile*
i've been in situations where i've been massaging the ears of horses, and when i need to go, I turn away and the next thing I know, the horse has circled in front of me, blocking my exit from the box, it's almost as if they're saying "i don't want you to go yet!" hehehe.
We used to have two small dogs named Azi and Sunshine. Azi was the more calm and serious one while Sunshine was more nervous and active. One time I had had a nightmare and I woke up feeling really nervous, seeming to have a feeling that someone was outside my room (my room is not directly part of the house). So I figured that I could bring the dogs in my room so that if anything happened they would bark and alert me and just to feel better in general. When Azi and Sunshine were in, I sat on the floor, and surprisingly Sunshine was the one to comfort me; he got on my lap and leaned on me, and I soon felt better. He is usually the one who doesn't like to be held much, so that was interesting that he was the one to make me feel better.
And a recent one was where Mom was really disappointed about a hole she found in a pillow. She said "oh no", in a loud sad tone, and our chihuahua, Star, had heard her and started howling in a sad tone and she howled for longer than what she usually does until Mom had to reassure her that it was alright. It was kind of funny because we hadn't expected her to do that.
All these animal/pet stories are interesting by the way. *smile* It's so cool how animals can make clear to us what they are thinking at times, and how they seem to understand us and decide to act based on that.
Animals have an innate inteligence about people. Some call it instinct. I call it smarts, because the way the learn and do things seems too systematic to me. Having said that, We had a cat once and I thought it would be a great idea to put a bell collar on her. She didn't like it. She used to bite me and run away in play. After we got the bell, I would find her. She soon figured out that when she ran the bell would ring, and when she walked it wouldn't. She'd bite me and run, and then she'd walk to another corner of the room, and watch me trying to find her. My mother and my wife both said she was grinning, which told me she knew exactly what she was doing.

I have a cat named Merry. She knows I'm blind. Good lord, I can tell Merry stories all day long. so I'll just summarize right quick. Merry responds to the phone, the doorbell, and alerts to anything unusual. she has picked up on and alerted to me about water heater leaks, frayed cords,, windows that were left in the floor by the person I assume was supposed to have put them in that day, my own cardiac arhythmias, so on and so on. She responds to a number of commands, comes when called, nudges my face for attention, meows so I know where she is. Shes a smart kitty.
"Ooooh, if i run, this stupid.thing.around.my neck jingles. hmmmm. quiet. quiet. quiet. ooh, it stopped. hee hee, i'll trick him, *walks away*.
Shadow: "ooh food for me! yay. NOw, how to get to it. hmmmm.
I have another one for you. When Syris our brown lab german shepherd mix was younger, we came home one night to hear her crying from somewhere, but we couldn't find her. I went upstairs, to find her standing at the top of the steps, scared outa her mind. She had gotten up the stairs, but was too scared to come down them again. Not now though. When she's hungry she comes and finds me, then charges down those stairs, like its nothing. :D
LOL, Mike!
Yes, animals can definately know when there's something wrong. One day, when I was feeling very stressed out and was sitting still staring at the wall, my guide dog Voyager came and sat in front of me. When that didn't get my attenchon, he licked my nose. When that still didn't snap me out of it, he licked my chin, and I jumped. It's almost as if he was saying, "what the heck are you sad for, I'm here."
I have a cat named Kitty. She is an in door out door cat. When she is out side I like to go out and make shure that she is ok and not wanting to come back in. Expecaly since its a bit hot here resently. So I open the door and call her every time. She has gotten to the point that when I say her name and she is outside she will meow at me to let me know wear she is. She will come kinda close and meow then run off if she doesn't want to come in, but if she does want to, she comes up andrbrushes agenst my leg for me to carry her in. she also likes to drink out of my cups, watch me take showers or go to the bathroom wake me up in the mornings so on and so on.
Watch you take showers? Never heard that before.
Cats are fascinated and scared of water at the same time. I had a friend whose cat sat on the side of the tub when she was filling the bathwater.
Lou
When I was pregnant with Nathaniel, I went to a friend's house for dinner. They owned a chihuahua named Nadia, and Nadia was a grouch to strangers, to say the least. Anyway, my friend warned me when I walked in to watch out 'cuz Nadia might growl at me, 'cuz she didn't like strangers. Well, first off, Nadia just came up and sniffed me, and when I sat on the couch, she came and lay on my lap. Well, I was surprised and a little confused, because then she started growling. And it turns out, she was mad at anyone, human or animal, that came near me. I learned later that animals can sense certain things with humans, and one of those things is pregnancy. They either hate your guts and stay away from you, or the love you and want to protect you and/or the unborn baby. Needless to say, when Nathaniel came over there to visit after he was born, Nadia stayed clear of him; guess she figured he was well old enough to protect himself, who knows.
I have heard of cats watching people in the shower. My friend Amy, who I referenced in an earlier post, has a cat that does that. Her cat Missy watches her shower, and used to stand on the edge of the tub just outside the shower curtain. The funniest thing was when Missy lost her footing, and actually fell into the tub. She gave this yowl that could have raised the dead, and jumped right back out again, but only after getting soaked. Now when Amy showers, Missy sits on the toilet tank and watches her from there.
heheh. funny. anyone tried to wash a cat? i can't remember the post on livejournal that I saw, but it was funny.
Merry likes to play alarm clock as well. one of her commands is sleepy time. she knows what it means when she wakes me up and I tell her its sleepy time. Merry does like to follow people into the bathroom. it makes friends uncomfortable but I just tell them to live with it. Some friends of mine have a cat who does not use a water bowl. instead, he drinks the water from the bottom of the tub after someone has showered.
some animals don't like to drink standing water, so if your pet won't drink out of a water bol or won't drink out of it after the water has been there for a bit, try to get a small water decoration, it looks like a water fall and water is always moving or something like that and the animal should drink out it.
Our current cat, Advent, is a great alarm clock. He learned how to get my talking alarm working. He'd march on the button in the morning. I kept hearing five, five, five, over and over again. He almost got flying lessons.
Lou
hmm, Mine will wake me up in the mornign so she can go out to hunt and play. Then she wants in in about three hours to eat and about ten minutes she wants out again. I wished I had a cat door on my door. She loves to go out at night.
"hmmm, he preses that button, it says stuff to him. Lets see what happens if I do it..."
We have a jug that sits on our dogs waterbowl, and when it ets to a certain point, the jug pours out water into the bowl. Our big dog, the brown lab german shepherd mix, Syris, is scared of it, when it pours out water, because of the bubbles.
one time, I had a cat named smoky. I raised him from a kitten. one day, I was laying on my bed, listening to the radio. smoky jumped on the air conditioner and his waight, (he was a good sized cat by now,) caused the air conditioner to shift, and he fell right out the windo. this house is only one story, so he really didn't get hurt, but he was scared out of his mind when mom brought him back in. he just stayed close to me for the rest of the day. I also have a dog named Gypsy, (no I didn't name her, she was already named.) and it's cute when she barks in her sleep, like she is now.
Hmmm, yeah, Purdie's like that, my Grandparents' dog. She won't even go near her water bowl if she hasn't touched it for even 10 minutes. Probably thinks some other dog's had it. Where can you get those waterfall things? Also, Purdie always, always, has to wag her tail, whip it all over the place when she's happy or she's wandering around. Watch your drinks if they're on a low table. Mess muck and broken glass everywhere if the tail comes in to contact with them. She also likes to shove her head under your arm when you're least expecting it for a stroke, though she once knocked a cup of coffee flying out of my hand in the process of doing this and last year of course, we had newborn baby Robbie, now 17 months join the family and was kind of jealous of all the attention he was getting and when she wants attention, she'll tap you with a paw, but on this ocasion when Gran was holding him, I think she just meant to tap her with a paw on the arm, but she got Robbie's head instead. Oopsy.

Hmmmmmmm.
Well, two days ago, I went to get a bottle of watter out of the fridge and one of our kittens decided to jump in the fridge. He didn't make any noise while doing that. So, I didn't know the cat was in there.
So, after geting my bottle of watter, I closed the door, and a few minutes later, we hear a meowing sound coming from what we thought was behind the fridge. But, after investigation, and trying to figure how he got there, we opened the door to the fridge, and the cat was still there. He was only in there for about 2 minutes. So, he was fine. He was so happy to get out of there, and that was the only time I've seen that cat actually stay still was when he was warming up.
Think I'll be careful to watch out for cats when I open the fridge when there are cats runnin around.
LOL!
I think you can buy those waterfall bowls at wallmart.
Yep, Wal Mart has them. So do pet stores.
Jeff, your cat musta hated ya when he got out of the fridge. haha.
I use to put our shitzoos in the frezers for a few minutes with the door still open, they loved it, I let my kitty explore the fridge and freazer when she first moved in. she only tryes to go in it when she smells tuna inside.she wasn't all that emprest with it. and yeah you can get them at wall mart, kay mart drug stores if they are the kind that sells shampoos candy arts and other stuff somethimes they have then, I saw a neet one at a thrift store one, but I wouldn't git a used one for my cat cause never know what was done to it before. Umless your wanting to do it anyways I think a bit of bleach and thirole rincing should clean it though, but still. I would feel bad if something happened beacuse of it.
He probably did, but he got over it I gues...
sigh, I have a bunch of stories about my pets, but this is actually at a hors place I've been to a couple of times.
I'm a major horse lover, and there is this one horse that this place has named jully and I stood there talking to her and she kept nuzzeling me as if to say keep talking I can listen, so I did, and I had met this horse before, so the owner took her out, got her set and let me brush her. and then he put a lead on her and I got to walk her around the paddic!! she just kept nuzzeling me the entire time. I was in heaven!!
my cat has started to meow at me when I talk to her, its funny cause once I asked her if she loved me and she meowed and it sounded like she said yes, and I can tell what she wants by her meows like if she wants outside or attenchtion.
Oh, cats can defnitely understand what we say. Sometimes its inflection, but I think its somewhat more than that. When I was a child, our neighbors had a cat who could "throw his meow." She'd be in one place, meow, and it sounded like it was from another part of the house. I'm sure the cat was laughing at us when we tried to find her.
Lou
thanks all for your stories. Love to read them.
sigh, I just wish I had more horse stories to share, but sadly that was my only one
My pritty little kitty has decided that she is to good for a nasty litter box and meows to go outside when she needs to go.I like that she is house broken the way she is. I do keep a litter box just incase she doesn't make it outside like when I might be sleeping or something,.
i have a fund of horse tales. recently, i was grooming the head mare of the herd when the horse in the stall opposite her got too close to her hind end, i must say that the horses are tied on long ropes in stalls in this barn, five horses down one side, five down the other. well a gelding got a bit close to the head mare's backside with his hind feet, and she didn't like it, so she lashed out. right after squealing and kicking, she came back to me and rested her hed on my shoulder as if to say, "it's all right now, i've fixed him!" a few minutes later, a gelding to the right of the head mare put his head over the stall wall and made a play of grooming the mare's mane while plainly trying to get my attention, the head mare wasn't having any of that, so she squealed, and lashed out again, frightening the gelding into submition. then she came back and rested her head on my shoulder in a hug which almost broke her rope. it was a real snuggly hug, which I think is so cute! this head mare was either mothering me or protecting me for some other reason, which is so lovely. hehe.
I have found that kitty loves to listen to my books I listen to. She will lay near me and listen to most of the story. She also likes to watch shows that goes on on the laptop and listen to the radio.
My cat likes when I read braille. He chases my hands. If doze off, I wake up to a mass of teeth and claws in my hand. Other times, he'll just lay on my hands.
ever fall asleep reading a braille book and wake up with your finger in the same place you left off? oops that was off topic wasnt it. well, merry likes to lay on my braille books. and the braillenote for that matter, but I make her get down when she lays on the bn
I just caught up on the posts for this thread. Lou, your cat jumping on your talking alarm clock reminded me of something.
When I first got Shadow, I had a laptop. It sat on my desk, and usually the screen was up, not because I used the monitor, but just because that was the way it usually sat. So I adopted Shadow in the afternoon. That night I went to bed, and woke up awhile later to hear my JAWS talking. In my half sleep, I thought I was back in college, where my roommate was a JAWS user, too. And so I mumbled, "Hi, Amy." My own voice woke me up enough to realize that there was no way Amy was in my apartment. So then I got scared, thinking someone had broken in and was using my computer, though that didn't make any sense either. And then I remembered that now I had a new kitty. I jumped up, went over to my desk, and here's Shadow walking around on my laptop keyboard. He probably liked it because it made weird noises, was warm, and had lights on it. LOL!
that is the cutest Dawn.
hehehe to the E-kitty! heheheeh lovely story that.
Maybe cats just like braille? I have had that happen to me, where I'll fall asleep while reading, and wake up with the book still on my lap.
maybe it stimulates their paws, hehehe. btw, horse related this one, but if i massage a horse's cheek just back from its mouth, the horse will start yawning, big open mouthed yawn with tongue lolling. it's v cute! hehe
Kodiak, that's cute. I don't have much experience with horses at all, so it's always interesting to hear your stories.
My grandfauther grew up on a farm and I got to ride a hourse a few time when i was three. I remembered that I cryed the hole time. But they wanted my brother, sister, and me on it for a picture. I think their beautiful.
hehehe i have been defended by a head mare, who decided her subordinates did not have a right to infringe her time with me. she faught them off, heheheeh i've also been hugged by a head mare too, which is so cute. she sorted her herd out, then came up to me and snuggled up, as if to say, it's all finished now, i've fixed them. hehehe
I know gypsy can understand me when I speak to her, and she knows when I'm upset to.
i have taught my cat george to say mamma, and play fetch with foil balls and other things. He also can turn on and off the lights. I simply put a treat on the switch and he jumps up and gets the treat with his paw, thereby, turnning on or off the lights.
I've a feeling that George also kows I'm blind. If he wants me to paly fetch with him, he'll either place a foil ball on my neck or face, or if i'm sitting in my chair, he'll tap on the object of his desire with his paw in rapid succession. This is as if to say here, mamma it's here. He'll also roll on the floor, or get outside and roll in front of the door to show me his tummy. He never wanders very far, just likes to roll around a bit. Infact, here he is now.
I was talking with a friend of mine, and she told me that her guide dog will groan if he gets restless while she's in a class. She said this happens a lot in her physics class. Gotta agree with the dog on that one, science and me have never gotten along too great.
Yes, Teardrop, I think animals often know we're blind. When I was growing up, our dog Cody would often sleep right in the middle of the hallway. He learned very quickly to wag his tail when he saw me coming. It meant two things: one, I would hear it thumping on the floor and not run into him, and two, because it was so cute, I'd always stop and pet him. Shadow, my cat, also learned to meow if he was laying somewhere out in the open and I approached him.
The story of the guide dog groaning in class made me laugh. I had a guide dog for awhile. Once, Dusty fell asleep in one of my college classes, and started snoring quite loudly. My professor was this really old guy, probably in his 70's. He swore it was a student asleep and snoring, and was getting positively irate. When I told him it was the dog, he didn't believe me. It took me and several other students to convince him it truly was Dusty snoring.
Yeah Syris our dog, does that the same thing if I'm walking where she has decided to look out the window, she'll thump her tail on the ground.
once when I was really having a bad day, my guidedog, bilko, jumped up on my lap and started licking my face and wagging his tail like crazy. this made me laugh and he tried to climb all the way up in the lawnchair wsth me, but he was too big. LOL HE DEFFINITELY MADE ME FEEL BETTER!
my cat can say no, yes, and she too tells me wears she is, and she even will meow a serten way to ask wear I am.
Aw'w'w'w! I could so, so go on about this totally gorgeous dog all night. He isn't my pet, sadly, he's my boyfriend's parents dog, a certain breed of dog with german origins beginning with R, just so I don't put the frighteners on anybody. That is also the last thing he'd ever dream of doing himself, bless him!
Now, Borris, code name Bozzle, isn't even 3 yet, the age Kris and I reckon dogs reach maturity, but Boz still has one hell of a lot of puppy in him. He is totally puppified, totally cute, totally soft and drop the dead blimming gorgeous, totally the opposite to the hellhounds you hear about on the news. Anyway, let's get on to some of the things he does which make him well, probably unique, one of the very few true gentle giants of his breed. When he wants attention, he'll either grumble or growl at you, turning up the volume louder and louder for however long he's ignored, eventually tapping you with a paw on your knee as if to say um, hello, fuss me, now.
With me, it only took a day for him to think oo, hello friend, so he'd just wander over to me wherever I happened to be and also if any door to any room I was in at any time happened to be open, he was making straight for me, for my cuddles, for my baby talk, for my hands which obviously felt or tasted very nice as he would either stand, sit or lie next to me for what felt like hours, licking and licking and licking me with great sweeping movements of his tongue up my arms, down my wrists and palms right to the tips of my fingers. He'd just give my hands a total washing, sometimes my face as well.its quite sad in some ways, he's started crying for my attention, bless him, so while I was there for Christmas, I'd have to drop whatever else I did for the first cry just sent me in to total mummy mode and play with his ears while he either sucked my hands like they were living pacifiers or he'd roll on his back for me to rub his belly while he wriggled around on his back, kicked his legs in the air and played with mine and Kris's hands in his teeth. When its tea-time, he'll also grumble or cry at you till he and the other two staffy colly crosses, poppy and toby are all fed in the back kitchen, usually after we've had our tea and the dogs have licked any leftovers off our plates so they don't block the dishwasher filter. Boz will also round up the other two for their tea, lol. And yes, I did mention cuddles earlier. Believe it or not, he will actually put his paws up on your shoulders when you say give me a cuddle and well, cuddle you, lol. He does it with Kris more than he does it with me, though he has started giving me his paws without me having to say, give me a paw. He is an absolutely corking, smashing and all the rest of it, example to other dogs of a certain breed with German origins beginning with R.
Jen.
does any one know how you know if your cat is a rag doll cat or not?
Hmm. My cat: Where do I start? I raised this little runt, from day 1, named Princess, A.K.A. Chica. She is now a 13 pound fuzzball. If it weren't for this cat, my mental state would be nowhere near anything resembling sane, for one. She's a five and a half year old calico, and she's absolutely adorable. She's quite squeaky, as well, hence the reason for one of her nicknames being "Chica-Squeaka." She's like my kiddo. She responds to several commands, such as "Come," "Up," "wait," and certain hand signals I've taught her to watch for during anxiety attacks. She also alerts to the door, like someone else's cat who posted awhile back. So: Onto the most recent Chica story that made me laugh. Our bathroom window looks out onto our enclosed back porch. My bedroom is right off the bathroom, so I can hear if someone's in there or whatever. Chica decided the other day, that she just didn't wanna come in the house via the conventional manner, i.e., the door, so she stood on the screenless window ledge, and squeaked. This is a normal thing for her, especially if she knows I'm home alone and won't hear her squeaking at the kitchen door. Apparently she'd been squeaking there for a few minutes, because when I opened the window, rather than stepping to the side and jumping down as per usual, she stuck her nose right to my nose, and squeaked in my face, as if to say, "Um, hello, Mom,. Excuse me? I think when I squeak, you're supposed to open the window a bit sooner. Now take that!" When I inevitably started laughing, because it tickled, she got all indignant and wouldn't squeak/talk to me for hours. Wouldn't even look at me, in fact.
"Mom, your a complete jerk, so I'm not talking to you! so hah!
When Hurricane Rita hit our town in 2005, I became the owner of an itty bitty kitten whom I named Dixie Mae. Since I already had my guide dog, Abbie, I braced myself for their rejection of each other. The result was quite the contrary. For the next six months, my girls were inseparable and they learned cute habits from each other.
My most memorable story about them is one morning, around 5 o'clock, we were all sleeping together on my couch when I heard a loud banging on my door. Aman was out there trying to get me to open the door. He told me that he'd runout of gas. I heard warning bells when he said this because I lived right next door to a gas station. Each time I refused to open the door, he got more insistant and pounded on the door harder and harder. Next thing I know, Abbie starts growling, barking and slamming the door with her side and Dixie is standing on the arm of the couch all puffed up and letting out short loud meows that sounded like barks. When the man started shaking the door knob and cursing at me, Abbie lunged at the door and head butted it several times. Dixie started hissing and then... silence. My girls had scared that man away and slept by the door until the sun came up.
I'm still amazed and that was three years ago.
